Lessonps3-1. Room setup
Sometimes, you will have the good fortune to control the room setup. You want the audience as close to you as possible, so don't be shy about moving around or out all tables and chairs. In a classroom, the ideal situation is the opposite of the traditional formal set of rows. You want your audience whispering to each other during your performance because the closer they sit together, the more fun and friendly the atmosphere will be. The more space each person has, the more subdued the atmosphere. If you are teaching a technical course, no big deal. But if you want your audience to be upbeat and laughing at your jokes, pack them in as tight as possible. If you can be there for the room setup, make sure latecomers arrive from the back. If they enter in front of where you are speaking, they will disrupt your talk until they find a seat. Avoid this situation. PracticeMake notes on where you will be making your presentation or speech. If you do not have one, imagine it in a place you know, even your living room.
On video, talk for two minutes about how you envision making that speech or presentation as professional as possible. There are no grades. This is about paying attention to details that make a difference in your performance. |
