ps3-0. Introduction

In the third and final chapter of Fearless Public Speaking, you will learn now that you have a sense of putting together a speech you must set the stage for your presentation. Literally. This chapter covers preparing the place where you will be making your presentation.

You will learn how to:

• Make sure the room is set up to acceptable standards
• Connect with your audience before you start your speech
• Check that you are in the right lighting situation
• Make the most of a loud receptive audience
• Make effective eye contact while speaking
• Create a successful look

Practice

ps3-0. Introduction

Record a video of one-two minute describing the possible situation around your public speech or presentation.

Don't worry if you have no specific schedule talk. Imagine it.

Go over how you envision the setup, where you will stand on a stage? in the middle of a circle. Outdoors or indoors? What can go wrong? What possible distractions? What should you double-check before the audience gets there? Any thoughts on backup?

​Go over your planning, and record and send it when you are confident that you are in the one to two-minute range.
