How to Take Better Pictures

Lesson 117. Light Skin Portraits

SCRIPT
Shooting subjects with light skin, avoid dark items in the picture.

Extreme contrast is extremely difficult to light.

In general, try to use medium colored tones for light skin.
VIDEO
PRACTICE
Take three pictures of a person with light skin.
  1. Take a picture of the person against a light background, preferably they are wearing light clothes.
  2. Take a picture of the person against a dark background, preferably they are wearing dark clothes.
  3. Take a picture of the person against middle range colors, wearing middle range clothes.
Study your results. If you can, study how to adjust the exposure on your camera so you can avoid these kinds of portrait problems. Write in 25-75 words your observations in your Progress Report.
