How to Take Better Pictures

Lesson 106. Note the Horizon

SCRIPT
In many of the pictures that you take, you’re going to have a horizon. Even if it’s not an actual horizon, a line often cuts your picture.

Make this part of your image and think about other options.

You can raise the camera up and tilt it down so
the horizons at neck level. Lowering the camera and the horizon makes foreground subjects look huge.
VIDEO
PRACTICE
Take three pictures of yourself or someone else with the horizon in different positions.
  1. Place the horizon at shoulder level
  2. Place the horizon at waist level
  3. Place the horizon at knee level
Study your results. Write in 25-75 words your observations in your Progress Report.
